I’m really excited for you to tour one of our most recent projects — Gratitude. Located in the private beach community of Middlesex Beach, DE, the original home had been in the owner’s family for a long time before they decided to build a new home to accommodate their grandchildren and extended family (check out the original homes before the photo)!
Set among the trees, the new 4,300 sq ft home boasts five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and two powder rooms. Additional features include a rooftop deck, double bunk room, screened-in porch, and custom architectural details, such as circular windows. COREtec Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) was used throughout the space as it’s a great option for high-traffic areas and beach houses in general.
This beautiful blue and white kitchen features a custom light monitor — think massive skylight — filled with glass which was designed by Bernardon (@bernardondesign) in order to filter in as much natural light as possible. The accent island countertop is Cambria Portrush quartz with blue veining, while the perimeter countertops are white quartz with matching white cabinets. The 48” range and the custom-built hood are major focal points of the space. Subway tiles along the backsplash include an accent border around the perimeter.
We designed a custom bar in Symphony Blue by Benjamin Moore to complement the kitchen’s accent island.
On each side of the fireplace, we created custom built-in benches for the family dog — allowing the pup to sit on top of the benches and look out the windows. Side cabinets on the benches, which are painted in Benjamin Moore’s Symphany Blue, were added for extra storage and feature Sevilla Weaves Triana Blue wallpaper by Philip Jeffries.
One of my favorite spaces in this home! Two round Anderson windows were built into a tower on the front of the house, which creates this cozy, but bright nook in an upper landing.
The entire home is furnished by Serena & Lily, including this beautiful Ventana Chandelier.
Primary Bed + Bath:
The primary bedroom harnesses an abundance of natural light. The primary bath’s floor features MSI White Carrara 12×12 polished tile in a diagonal layout. The shower wall tile is Arley Tile in Aqua Mix with Solid Hex Azure Deco floor tile.
Bunk Room + Bath:
I designed the two queen bed bunk beds featuring a full bed on top. The top railing also folds down to easily change sheets. Serena & Lily Whale Tile wallpaper was added as an accent to the drawers built into each stair. We continued the same wallpaper into the adjoining bathroom on three of the four walls. A wood tile accent was added above the vanity backsplash for added detail, with whale hooks to hang towels.
