Marnie Oursler Launches Sawdust & Salt Co.Online Shop; 100% Of Profits Donated To Charity
Bethany Beach, DE – Marnie Oursler, Founder and President of Marnie Custom Homes and star of beach home renovation show Big Beach Builds on DIY Network, is pleased to announce the launch of Sawdust & Salt Co., an online shop where 100% of profits are donated to charity.
Oursler’s shop is dedicated to her maternal grandfather “Pop-Pop” – a World War II Captain, master carpenter, and the man who taught her father how to build. Upon checkout from Sawdust & Salt Co., customers have an opportunity to literally pay it forward by choosing among one of the four featured charities to donate their purchase. Oursler selected the following four charities for customers to donate to upon check-out: Oceana, Girls Who Code, Operation Surf, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
The four featured charities are causes that Marnie is personally passionate about. Oceana is dedicated to protecting and restoring our oceans. Girls Who Code’s mission is to close the gender gap in technology. Operation Surf helps wounded war veterans and heros learn to surf in order to help reduce PTSD symptoms. Finally, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital is dedicated to ending pediatric cancer.
“I knew I wanted to honor my family with the launch of Sawdust & Salt Co. I am a 5th-generation home builder, and giving back is an integral part of my family’s legacy on both sides,” said Oursler, “It’s because of my father and my grandfathers that I’m a home builder, and it’s in tribute to Pop-Pop and my family’s philanthropic roots, that I’m giving 100% of the profits from everything sold in Sawdust & Salt Co. to the featured charities.”
