2013 Gold Entrepreneur of the Year

Bethany Beach, Delaware – (November 11, 2013) – Marnie Oursler, Founder and President of Marnie Homes, has been awarded with a Gold Stevie® Award in the Entrepreneur of the Year category in the 10th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie® Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2013 Stevie® Awards for Women in Business received more than 1,200 entries from virtually every industry, representing 18 nations and territories.

“This award is a tremendous honor, and I’m grateful to be considered among such incredible business leaders,” said Oursler. “Resilience, thought leadership, and a strong support network of family and friends have been my keys to success, and these tenets apply to entrepreneurs in any field.”

A woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, Marnie Oursler distinguishes herself by building one-of-a-kind beach homes with economically and environmentally sustainable products. Her most notable projects include the “All-American House,” constructed of more than 90 percent domestic building materials, and “Eco Beach,” Delaware’s first LEED-certified home. In 2012, Oursler created the “We Build American” campaign with building materials supplier 84 Lumber. As a national spokesperson, she advocates for the use of more American-made products to increase domestic jobs and better our nation’s economy.

“For 10 years we have been recognizing the achievements of women in the workplace, and this year’s nominations were the most impressive class the judges have ever reviewed,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie® Awards. “We congratulate all of this year’s Grand, Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie® Award winners for their achievements.”
