This home is one of the biggest houses we have built to date in Bethany Beach. The six bedroom, 6,800-square-foot oceanfront dream home is in a league of its own. The goal was to be able to have a clear line of sight to the ocean as you enter through the extra wide front door—a Marnie Custom Homes signature.
For the kitchen, we created a true indoor-outdoor living space with a seamless transition to a screened-in porch. One of the best features of this space are the large La Cantina pocket doors that slide completely into the wall, disappearing and opening up the space to the porch. To break up the white kitchen, we incorporated open shelves with recessed lights and a matching wood countertop, and painted the kitchen island in Sherwin-Williams Naval, plus integrated custom white-washed wood detailing.
Designed for overflow entertaining, a butler’s pantry completes the space with a second refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishwasher, and bar. When entertaining, this space may be utilized to easily conceal dirty dishes or food prep, as the pocket door keeps the kitchen clutter free for guests to enjoy.
In the primary suite, a cathedral ceiling and vintage wood beams match the home’s roofline, while sliding glass doors lead to a private balcony. The ensuite bath captures the oceanfront view from every angle. At the sink, you can see the ocean through the reflection in the mirror. The slipper tub and shower also have ocean views.
An outdoor bar is set among the dunes—the perfect space to enjoy a cocktail after a day at the beach. Custom seating includes two bar swings that were inspired by a trip Marnie took a few years ago to Mexico.
