Dustin Burkett of Marnie Custom Homes Awarded Pro Builder’s Forty Under 40 Class of 2022.
As Senior Project Manager, Burkett is Recognized as a Young Leader and Achiever in the Home Building Industry.

Bethany Beach, DE (May 2022) — Pro Builder announced its class of Forty Under 40 for 2022, recognizing Dustin Burkett, Senior Project Manager, Marnie Custom Homes as one of the home building industry’s brightest young talents and next-generation leaders and innovators. This year’s recipients were selected from more than 100 nominations submitted from across the United States.

Burkett began his career as a journeyman plumber doing primarily new-home construction. Now with Marnie Custom Homes, on average Burkett manages construction for three to four custom homes which the company builds between Labor Day and Memorial Day.

He assists four project managers in addition to working on his own projects. From 2011 to 2014, Burkett helped manage the construction of 28 custom homes, and when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, he covered for the departure of two project managers and oversaw the completion of six custom homes—each averaging 8,600 square feet. All of his projects finished on schedule and on budget, never missing a deadline.

“Dustin’s dedication and work ethic are unparalleled,” says Marnie Oursler, President, Marnie Custom Homes. “Our clients rely on Dustin; they admire his knowledge and lean on him for help. His team members depend on him and he is always ready to listen and share new ideas and information.”

The Pro Builder Forty Under 40 awards honor those before the age of 40 who demonstrate a wide range of achievements, who push the boundaries in both personal and professional accomplishments, tapping a range of skills, with a good dose of grit, ingenuity, adaptability, and a keen understanding of business and the ability to inspire and lead a team. Winners also show dedication to the community – serving in a variety of volunteer and fundraising roles to support causes such as affordable housing, health crises and industry advocacy. Marnie Oursler is a previous Forty Under 40 Award recipient, recognized in the organization’s class of 2012.

“Across the board, our 2022 class initiated and led innovative programs that helped their companies achieve success,” said Rich Binsacca, editorial director of Pro Builder Media. “Their accomplishments, both at work and in their communities, are remarkable and inspiring.”
